The Golden Bowl is the story of two marriages entangled with one another. Prince Amerigo (Jeremy Northam), an Italian Aristocrat, is married to Maggie (Kate Beckinsale), the daughter of an American tycoon. Previously he had been having an affair with his true love Charlotte (Uma Thurman). Charlotte later marries Adam (Nick Nolte), Maggie's father, and the lives of the four become mixed up in one family. The Prince and Charlotte soon continue their affair unaware that there are others who know of their actions. The story comes to a startling and dramatic finale as the adulterous affair is brought to light.
