Synopsis:
'John's Not Mad' has been one of the most talked about TV documentaries of the last 20 years. It has never been re-broadcast since its original transmission back in 1989. Now, on video, you can see why this film made such and impact on the nation and brought the relatively unknown condition of Tourette Syndrome into the public domain. Filmed as a Q.E.D. documentary by the BBC, 'John's Not Mad' follows John Davidson, a 15 year-old schoolboy from Galashiels who suffer from the most severe form of this complex neurological disorder. This fascinating and inspiring film explores the way in which John, his family and the local community deal with his extreme condition.
This video also contains footage from the 2002 follow up BBC documentary "The Boy Can't Help It" featuring John, now aged 31, as he talks about how much impact the original documentary has had on his life.
