- Spiral is a French crime drama that follows one case each season. The series follows the lead investigators in both the the French police and the courts as they attempt to solve a complicated murder case. The series follows Police Captain Laure Berthaud (Caroline Proust), a Paris police officer and Prosecutor Pierre Clement (Gregory Fitoussi) as they get entangled in a web of conspiracy and murder as they attempt to solve a grisly murder as the suspects mount and the killers hide.

Don't hesitate - Spiral review by SB
The French title, 'Engrenages' means something like 'gears', and this better describes the script's concentration on the interconnectedness of crime and how every piece of a puzzle needs to be solved.
I have seen every series of this on TV. It is one of the best police procedurals ever made. Intense, realistic, funny, dramatic, set in the real non-tourist Paris, with an exceptional cast who are very believable together. It is exhausting to watch, because it is so engaging.

Superb Really don't hesitate - Spiral review by JRC
I agree 100% with the only review wriitten so far. It is totally engaging. . No card board cut-outs here. Corruption and honesty within many of the characters. A police series I would take with me to the apocryphal desert islend.
