- Synopsis:
- Dennis Potter's story of a demonic young man Martin (Sting), who infiltrates the troubled Bates household. The mother (Joan Plowright), father (Denholm Elliot) and daughter (Suzanna Hamilton) are strangely drawn to the mysterious Martin. As he weaves his spell around the family Martin changes from a miracle maker to something much darker. 'Brimstone and Treacle', originally banned in England, is one of Dennis Potter's most powerful screenplays.
