Rent Gambit (1966)

One of the classic comic-heist movies of the 60’s, Ronald Neame’s Gambit stars Michael Caine as Harry Dean, the cockney conman with the perfect plan to steal a priceless statue. He just needs the right accomplice to play the part of his wife and Shirley MacLaine’s Eurasian showgirl has just the face he’s looking for. Events don’t unfold quite as planned, but then little is what it seems in a plot that keeps the audience guessing as it twists and turns to the very end.
