Synopsis:
Admiral Kirk's defeat of Khan and the creation of the Genesis planet are empty victories. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) is dead and McCoy (DeForest Kelley) is inexplicably being driven insane. Then a surprise visit from Sarek, Spock's father, provides a startling revelation: McCoy is harbouring Spock's living essence. With one friend alive and one not, but both in pain, Kirk (William Shatner) attempts to help his friends by stealing the USS Enterprise and defying Starfleet's Genesis planet quarantine. But the Klingons, led by fearsome Battle Commander Kruge (Christopher Lloyd), have also learned of Genesis and race to meet Kirk in a deadly rendezvous...

Not much to like here - Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock review by AB

Spoiler Alert
14/11/2017

As I have stated in previous Trek reviews, I like sci-fi and the franchise series and films but this is to my mind by far the poorest of them. Not much of a storyline (Kirk trying to find Spock for some spurious reasons), the Klingons wanting the secrets of Genesis, the Federation refusing to allow Kirk his project, but all in all a poor storyline, wooden acting, not as much humour as in the other films and lacking in emotional effects. Watch it to continue the sequence but as a standalone film, poor
