- This programme will tell the story of the Battle of Waterloo, one of the most famous military campaigns in history. Within four days it changed the face of Europe, ending the systematic use of arms and the French domination of the Continent. In 1815, Austria, Prussia, Russia and the United Kingdom had allied themselves to end the rule of one of the greatest commanders and statesmen in history, Napoleon Bonaparte. At this point, he was considered a military genius, and was the ruler of most Western European countries. Beyond the historical facts, we will discover how the Waterloo Campaign was experienced by the men involved.

Interesting film for those who want to learn about Waterloo - Waterloo: The Ultimate Battle review by Peter B
Well made film showing what a bizarre period in history this was. Napoleon narrowly missed victory, obviously not at his best, what with having stomach cancer etc. The weather was not on his side either. Communications were so difficult and erratic that a large band of french soldiers wandered around missing all the important action. Knowing absolutely nothing about this period of history, I found it very interesting.
