The Cuckoo tells the compelling story of two runaways — a Russian captain (Victor Bychkov) and a Finnish sniper (Ville Haapasalo) - who find refuge with a young Lapp widower (Anni-Kristiina Juuso). Naturally, there arc cultural and linguistic barriers between them, not to mention war rivalries. Yet they slowly get to know each other and their very separate worlds come together in both comic and tragic ways.
