Brothers And Sisters is a revelation, an outstanding cast and a script that tackles issues from family to Iraq, sexuality and politics. Initially there are doubts that Sally Fields can actually be Calista’s mother, but the cast grows into their characters rapidly. While Flockhart and Lowe may be the big names here, it’s Sally Fields as the haphazard mother who really shines throughout this first series. This is another fine American drama that deserves to stand alongside the best output from the States.
