- ‘Detectorists’ is a British comedy drama TV series created by Mackenzie Crook, who also portrays the character of Andy in the show, starring alongside Toby Jones who portrays Lance. The show is set in Danebury, Essex, a fictionalized town based on Danebury in Hampshire, and follows the lives of two odd metal detectorists, who wander through endless roads and vast fields in hope to hit the jackpot once and for all.

A quiet masterpiece of gentle British character comedy - Detectorists review by DD
It's hard to put into words just how much I really loved this series. Everything just comes together perfectly - the writing, direction, acting and heartbreaking folk-music soundtrack are all just superb.
