- Michelangelo, an unseen schoolboy armed only with a Tiobile phono, goes behind the scenes at a New York fashion show during seven days in which an accident on the catwalk turns into a murder investigation, and his interviews with key players become a bitterly funny expose of an industry in crisis. Everyone from the designer (Simon Abkarian) and his models (supermodel Lily Cole and Jude Law in drag), to the toxic fashion critic (Judi Dench). The desperate war photographer turned paparazzo (Steve Buscemi) and the fashion house financier (Eddie Izzard), confides in Michelangelo and their deepest secrets are laid bare.

Yes, if you read reviews beyond Cinema Paradiso, they don't rate 'Rage'. But I loved it for the slow and thoughtful burn as the story is gradually revealed, and it allows you concentrate on each character and the angle from which the regard the fashion/garment industry. Wonderful performances from each actor; known and unknown. As ever it's in the casting.
Do watch Sally Potter's interview too. Watching and writing this twelve years after she wrote and directed the film; it shows she understood what the future of internet communication could hold.
