Shattered Glass review by Geek Pie
An excellent drama based on a true story

Shattered Glass, based on a true story, charts the rise and fall of Stephen Glass, a reporter for 'The New Republic' magazine. Impatient to make his mark in the world of journalism Glass starts substituting fiction for fact to make his contributions more attractive for publication. The film shows how Glass's ingratiating personality seduces and manipulates the entire staff of his magazine, and is befriended, admired and envied by his colleagues who seek to emulate his success. His career however, comes crashing down when a fact checking writer for the online magazine 'Forbes Digital Tool' begins to question the content of his stories. The films ethical message on how much we rely and trust journalists to provide us with the truth is disturbing, but as a piece of drama it's simply riveting. With a superb script, great performances and involving direction, 'Shattered Glass' is both compelling and entertaining.
