Diana Ross is one of the all-time great female singers. From her early days of extraordinary success with The Supremes and throughout her chart-topping solo career she has remained a true superstar of soul music across the globe. Diana Ross concert in New York s Central Park in 1983 is the stuff of legend. The original concert took place on Thursday July 21st in front of an audience of 400,000 people. Shortly after the concert started the rain set in, then became a torrential downpour and ultimately a dramatic electrical storm that, despite Diana Ross best efforts, caused the abandonment of the concert after 47 minutes. So the following day they rescheduled and did the whole show again in glorious sunshine. It is a great show by one of the world s greatest performers at her absolute best.
