Amateur Hour
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by JD
Spoiler Alert
Updated 13/11/2020
One of the worst movies I have seen in years. Could have been made by students for their final exam. Acting is so wooden and some of the cinematography and continuity is a joke.
I turned the dvd off after 10 minutes, it was so poor.

One to avoid

How this film got a 4.2 rating is beyond belief.
One star only to submit review but to be frank I would not have given it any stars as it's that amateurishly bad.

Probably the most amateurish and poorly acted film ever
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by GN
This is so bad you can't believe what you are watching. Cheaply made, poorly acted and so very amateurish. My 10 year old nephew couldn't have done a worse job.
Yes, really it is that bad.
Should come with an appropriate warning to all customers and an apology for wasting their time and money.
Should be withdrawn from CP's rental library immediately.

A very amateurish attempt.

I gave up after about 15 minutes. Wooden acting, contrived dialogue and quickly lost interest in the cliche characters.

Not very good unfortunately, not worth watching at all
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by SG
This film has been hyped up - but it does not match up to expectations at all. Good first director effort but acting, dialogue and sound quality all poor. Even the costume and props look unreal and anachronistic. Shame really as I was expecting great things from this as I've read loads of hype on it. Not much of a WW2 story either, it needs a huge budget injection to keep it afloat.
Watch FURY with Mr B.Pitt instead.

Not even worth skipping through.........
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by NN
I am fairly sure that the writer, director, actors and producers only knowledge of the period they made this film about was based on one reading of a commando comic many, many years ago.

Rubbish!!!

Absolute joke!! This film, if you can call it that, has been put together by a bunch of amateurs. I will be considering cancelling my contract if I cannot get a credit.

Terrible

Utterly unwatchable. Terrible acting and awful dialogue. The description completely oversells it. Avoid.

A Low-Key story of Integrity
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by AS
If you are looking for a dramatic action movie, this is not the film to see.
It's strength is in its accurate portrayal of the real horrors of war -- the long periods of stultifying boredom followed by heavy violence, the damage done by long periods of isolation and emotional separation etc. There is the ongoing contrast between the beauty of Nature contrasting with the destructive thoughts and actions of the war participants.
The low-key "hero" stays focused on getting home to his wife and child -- following his intuition rather than just making mental assumptions.

Dreadful
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by TW
Bad script and terrible acting. So amateurish it looks like it was filmed on a phone. Not even as good as the average student film.

Possibly the worst film of all time
- WWII: The Long Road Home review by AM
Not even up to the standard of a student movie. Acting - there is none. What a mess. I feel that I'm owed a free rental I would never, ever have paid for this complete rubbish
