Bebe (Molly Ringwald) and Alex (Donal Logue) are a couple on the run. After a drug deal turns deadly, the pair head off to Baja, Mexico, where they hide out in a Traitor on the sea of Cortez, awaiting forged pass parts which will allow their passage to Venezuela. Enter John Stone (Corbin Bernsen), Bebe's shady father who asks Michael Hart (Michael A. Nickles), her estrange husband, to track them down and return Bebe. Michael is at first reticent to take the job, but his strong feelings for Bebe lead him to accept. Once he's reached the desolate Mexican border town, Michael finds it a simple matter to locate Bebe and Alex. So, however, does Tom Burns, a hit man with marital problems and litery pretensions. As Burns prepares to kill Alex, Michael finds himself with less than twenty-four hours to convince Bebe to return home. The stakes are raised when the paranoid Alex suspects that Michael is the hit man. What follows is a violent, darkly funny game of cat and mouse in which the players are forced to confront each other and themselves.
