A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) 'Tis the season to be jolly, but Charlie Brown, feeling that the Christmas message is lost amid all the seasonal glitter, has the blues. Acting as his psychiatrist, Lucy suggests that charlie Brown get involved with the holiday festivities by directing their Christmas play. To set the proper mood Charlie Broun is sent out to find the perfect Christmas tree to decorate the stage. He then searches through tinsel and blinking lights for the 'real' meaning of yuletide. He eventually finds it with the help of a little shrub of a tree and an emotional explanation of Christmas by Linus.

He turns to his best friend Snoopy for amusement but the unpredictable beagle is busy. Rerun, becoming increasingly frustrated, asks Snoopy to invite his canine brother Spike for a visit. When Spike shows up, it looks like Rerun will have a dog for Christmas after all....but then the real trouble begins.
