The nightmare begins when Walter Sparrow (Carrey), a mild-mannered dogcatcher, begins reading a tattered, used book called The Number 23. OK - Number 23 review by CP Customer

Starts off well with Jim Carrey's character making some interesting observations about numbers, based on a book he is reading. However, I found the constant referral to 'coincidences' with numbers a bit irritating after a while. The film has a 'creepy' feel to it and the soundtrack is quite menacing. Madsen and Carrey play their parts well but I didn't feel the plot or script were strong enough to keep me enthralled. In conclusion I would say this is a fairly mediocre film, but not a bad one.

Really didn't want to watch it, cos thought Jim carrey would put me off, him in the Truman Show didn't work for me, but this film was ace! I didn't get the twist so was nicely suprised and I have to say, he was really good.

Cool!

Far from Carrey's best - Number 23 review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert

Jim Carrey is a great actor but he's badly let down by the plot in this one. The film starts well and the twists and turns in the story make you think that some amazing revelation is just round the corner - but the ending was a let down. It could have been a good film if someone had re-written the last half hour and gone for a less obvious trick ending.
