Based on the extraordinary true story of the greatest small-boat rescue in U.S. Coast Guard history, 'The Finest Hours' is a tale of courage, faith and honour in the face of overwhelming odds. When a massive storm strikes off the coast of Cape Cod, it rips a T-2 oil tanker in half, trapping more than 30 sailors on its rapidly sinking stern. As Captain Bernie Webber (Chris Pine) and his crew set out in a 12-seat rescue boat to save them, Chief Engineer Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) struggles to buy his men more time.
Thia film is too long, the characters have no personality whatsover, the ending is rubbish. Not worth a rental!

Good story based on true events
- The Finest Hours review by gazmb
Really enjoyed this film based on true story , the bravery of a group of rescuers risk everything to save a crew of a crippled ship in bad rough weather at sea never giving up. It kept me interested throughout the film .
I really enjoyed this depiction of a truly heroic event. Not overly distracted by the personal attachments but focused on the enormity of the events. Well done Disney I felt really amazed at the real potential of the human spirit.
