- You'd never expect a guy to find love at a funeral but that's exactly what happens in this outrageous comedy. With no job, no girlfriend and no foreseeable way out of his mother's house, Tom Thompson (David Schwimmer) has a social life that's all but dead... that is, until he's asked to be a pallbearer at the funeral of a classmate he can't remember. Whether Tom is struggling through an embarrassingly bad eulogy in order to impress his old high school heartthrob (Gwyneth Paltrow) or fending off the amorous advances of the deceased's grieving mother (Barbara Hershey), you can't help but get carried away by this uncommonly funny comedy.
