Living in the same universe as 'The Walking Dead', 'Fear the Walking Dead' is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counsellor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful children takes a back seat when society begins to break down, and as the necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, they must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.
Good start to the spin off series

If your familiar with the walking dead this new spin off will fill a gap. Same production values it fills that space when it first starts and Rick is as sleep in his coma for the first few weeks of the start of the Apocalypse.
New characters, we follow mainly one dysfunctional family as the characters start to find out the extent of the infection and the rules that you know if you've seen the walking dead. It gives you an insight of how quickly organised society falls apart and those you trust are suddenly not trustworthy.
A good start to the new series with some lovely shots which play with the fact -are the walking dead. If you like walking dead then this is definitely worth watching.

Starts off OK, goes quickly downhill. There are plenty online reviews which can slate it far more eloquently than I can but clunky dialoque, characters you couldn't care less about, and some special effects that would look at home on 80's tv, are just a few of my gripes with this.
