One of the most legendary adventures in all mythology is brought to life in Jason and the Argonauts, a thrilling tale of a young adventurer's perilous quest to find the coveted Golden Fleece. Jason is only three years old when his father King Aeson is killed by his uncle, the evil ty rant Pelias (Dennis Hopper), who then claims the throne. Twenty years later, Jason (Jason London) is told of his past. It is time to fulfil his destiny and reclaim his father's kingdom.
But when Jason arrives back in lolcus, Felias quickly sentences him to death and will only spare his life if he brings back the coveted Golden Fleece, considered to be the greatest gift from the god's to man. Jason builds a ship, the Argo, and together with his team of Argonauts, begins the treacherous journey to the island of Colchis. There, according to the blind prophet Phineas (Sir Derek Jacobi), an enchanting sorceress named Medea faithfully guards the fleece. Against impossible odds and overwhelming obstacles - including a terrifying sea giant the size of an island, deadly fly ing Harpies and an army of beautiful but murderous woman ruled by Hypsipyle (Natasha Henstridge), Jason is determined to complete the mission....
