Frost/Nixon review by Jackgold
Great tale no matter what truth is

A film that captures the time and a never before seen intrigue of what I always thought was a simple interview. It manages to grip you from beginning to end with acting performances as good as the story. A real treat. Only comment for me is that neither look like the people they portay, though they sound like them. Anthony Hopkins would have been great to reprise his role. Still it remains another good yarn based on fact. If you liked 'JFK' or '13 days' you will enjoy this.

This is one of the best performances from both Michael Sheen (a virtual Chameleon) and Frank Langella. The way it has been put together, by Ron Howard, is exceptional. The acuracy is excellent and the whole feel of the movie keeps you gripped from start to finish. The way the supporting casts interact is fantastic. Cant recommend this film highly enough.

Frost/Nixon review by Jawbreaker
What a fine mess

Frost/Nixon is another addition to the films regarding the era of President Nixon and his infamous reign. Here Ron Howard’s methodical style of directing is ideally suited to this extensive and in-depth appreciation of a famous television event. I’d say this is Howard’s best effort to date, his plodding style seems matched to the nightmare scenario that slowly unfolds for Nixon. The real revelation here is Sheen, a marvellous portrayal of David Frost, who manages to shun the temptation to impersonate with the presenters catchphrases. Instead he brings real depth to the character but was remarkably overlooked at the Oscars. This is an ideal Sunday afternoon film, for those searching for a political drama after reading the daily newspapers.
