Myni Savage (Kim Stanley) is a highly strung spiritual medium who carries out seances in her dark Victorian house. She convinces her weak-willed hushand Hilly (Richard Attenborough) to 'borrow1 a child and go through the ritual of presenting it as a kidnapping. Then, when all seems lost, she will demonstrate her extraordinary powers by holding a seance and offering her services to the baffled parents and police. Though Billy inexpertly carries out the kidnapping, the horror of these instructions convinces him that Myra has finally crossed the threshold of Insanity...
