Car crash of a film No 9 - Fast and Furious 9 review by Alphaville

Spoiler Alert
26/10/2021

It opens with a car crash followed by a cloying family scene. Yep, it’s the same old story. There’s a new mission afoot, but Vin doesn’t want to do it. Who’d have thought? But wait a minute – drum roll – he’s changed his mind! What a relief, otherwise there’d be no No. 9.

With plot and dialogue as pathetic as ever, FF through it all and cut to the car chases. The first is the best. Bog-standard crashes and explosions of course, but it’s filmed in Thailand with some sweeping drone shots and even a new stunt. Yay! The second chase is set in a mythical Hollywood version of Edinburgh that will at least amuse anyone who knows the city. The third and final chase is filmed in Georgia and is a real anti-climax. Everything in this film is by-the-numbers, but cut to the chases and you might grab half-an-hour of stupid fun.

Death of a franchise - Fast and Furious 9 review by SH

Spoiler Alert
02/11/2021

This movie is just rubbish. It's not the movies we loved at the start of the franchise with lots of cars and street racing. It's just an bloated cgi mish mash of events edited into a movie.

Not worth my time.

Would say Train Wreck but total Car Crash of a film topped with extra Cheese - Fast and Furious 9 review by KT

Spoiler Alert
30/11/2021

If this film was pizza we'll all be happy, extra cheese for everyone! Seems like with every FF film things get worse, even the most loyal FFS fans will be disappointed in this one. It seems like they forgot what make the franchise popular and instead wanted to follow the James Bond route (which in itself has been dull). For me FF started to to downhill round FF8 and now FF9, Submarines and Space Flights? Really? FF9 is a mash-up off all the characters from the previous episodes and there's just too much going on to tell a good story. After watching you cant help feeling that was intended as the final film but instead changed their minds last minute and even Han, a character so popular that they brought back didn't have much dialogue, you just have the feeling that people were brought in for a few days , done their lines and left. Glad they are finishing things off with FF10, because its getting really bad. Sometimes things are best left as they are instead of straining for a story where there really isn't one anymore. Just compare the first few films to this junk and you see why I'll give 0 stars if the system let me. Trash N Furious.
