A woman spends time in Africa, then returns to Denmark after not acheiving quite what she wanted. Rather uneventful, but still very pleasant to watch, with great acting, landscapes & theme music.
Good film but not always very clear just what is happening as the story can be puzzling.. Well acted.
Gorgeous landscapes and John Barry’s score try their best, but it still feels weirdly distant. Streep brings steel, Redford stays slippery. Colonial nostalgia hangs around like an uninvited guest. The ending? Beautifully shot misery, delivered first class.
