After surviving an unexpected attack in enemy territory, jet-setting industrialist Tony Stark builds a high-tech suit of armour and vows to protect the world as Iron Man. Straight from the pages of the legendary comic book is a hero who is built - not born - to be unlike any other!
This is a fantastic film for anyone who enjoys comic book superheroes. It is better than bat-man because it isn't clogged with sentimental romantic padding (well a little bit only) it is much more kerrrpoowww and spplaattt with a bit of star wars techno-wonder thrown in for good measure. Not to be watched with your film buff hat on but with your pants over your Lycra.
Big budget & a weak story.

On paper this should have been one of the best superhero films to date with a big budget and a great cast. The trouble is the story is just rubbish, and for me setting a superhero movie in Afghanistan, where there's still an active conflict being fought, was really poor taste and just plain tacky. That aside the film as a whole is really poor, with a weak storyline and decidely average special effects. This is a film which should have been more but in reality is nothing but a big budget kids movie.
