- Synopsis:
- Suffering from amnesia, a U.S. Special Forces soldier known only as 'Bo' (Lee Pace) wakes up in a prison cell in Nairobi with no idea how he got there or indeed who he is. He soon discovers that there has been a cataclysmic invasion of Earth by an unknown alien threat and mankind stands on the brink of total annihilation. However, a resistance is mounting and it isn't long before Bo joins them in an all or nothing last stand to take the planet back!

Excellent low-budget alien invasion movie - Revolt review by Alphaville
Giant bipedal drones invade the earth in this low-budget War of the Worlds. The special effects are simple but effective and the African setting provides an original backdrop to the action. We follow our hero, an amnesiac soldier, and his female aid-worker companion as they drive, walk and fight their way through the ‘Kenyan’ backcountry (filmed in South Africa) to an American base. With excellent production values, it’s beautifully filmed by writer/director Joe Miale (his first feature). With an apocalyptic feel and a mean running time of 83 minutes, the pace never lets up and it’s far superior to other budget attempts at grand-scale sci-fi (eg Monsters). The DVD also contains an interesting Making Of featurette.

Dire, Derivative, Drivel - Revolt review by BS
This is one of those films which appears to consist of rejected scenes collected from the cutting room floor and cut and pasted from other much better movies. I could not bring myself to watch it through to the end but gave up after the mass attack of what looked like stampeding giant robot chickens. When the heroine was drawn up in the air into the mother ship War of the Worlds style that was enough for me. I had earlier gritted my teeth through the amnesiac hero Cowboys and Aliens style 'Who am I?' routine complete with flashbacks. As my father always used to say, "There's nothing like a good night out - and this was nothing like a .......etc,

It’s not that bad - Revolt review by pbh
Despite what BS and Alphaville have said, the movie probably in between. It really is not that bad or good for that matter. Okay it was a bit ‘War of the Worldsy’ and low budget but it’s quite watchable. If you’re into SF movies then give it whirl. Its fast moving and only 83 minutes long.
