Dreadful! - Oldboy review by CP

Spoiler Alert
16/11/2018

The central character is so unlikeable I didn't care less what happened to him and Josh Brolin also does a poor job of potraying him. The dialogue is often awful and even the usually reliable Samuel L Jackson gives a lackluster performance of a stereotypical villian, although to be fair, he has a small part and not much to do. The guy who plays the main villian is just laughable. Never seen him before, and hope never to again. Also completely unbelievable that an overweight alcoholic can become so good a fighting just from watching tv! I know it's just a movie, but it's nonsensical. Elizabeth Olsen is the only one who an walk away from this with any credibility.. Don't waste your time. Appalling film.
