Synopsis:
Many years ago, Laura left the orphanage where she had spent her childhood. Now, thirty years later, she returns with her husband Carlos and her young son Simon, with a dream of restoring and reopening the long-abandoned orphanage as a home for disabled children. But the mysterious surroundings awaken Simon's imagination and the boy starts to spin a web of fantastic tales on not-so innocent games... As events take a sinister turn, Laura slowly becomes convinced that something long-hidden and terrible is lurking in the old house, something waiting to emerge and inflict appalling damage on her family.

Good Film Great Twist - The Orphanage review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
11/11/2008

Just like all del toros films this one keeps you guessing right up untill the heart stopping end. I wont say too much in case I spoilt it but when you do watch it you will see the pieces of a well thought out story come together.

Lots of bumps in the night and though provoking moments.

A must watch!!!

Don't believe the hype - The Orphanage review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
14/10/2008

Somewhat disappointing experience given the build up, positive reviews and hype elsewhere.

The Orphanage is well directed, full of good performances and the cinematography is pleasing. Where it falls down is the script, for me it left too many questions and was just a hybrid of The Others and The Sixth Sense.
