Synopsis:
Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) has been quietly trying to disappear among the burned-out light bulbs and broken appliances of the Cove apartment complex. But one night, Cleveland finds someone else hiding in the mundane routine of the modest building - a mysterious water nymph named Story (Bryce Dallas Howard), who has been living in the passageways beneath the building's swimming pool. Story is being stalked by vicious creatures from her world that are determined to prevent her from making the journey from our world back to hers.
Story's unique powers reveal the fates of Cleveland's fellow tenants, whose destinies are tied directly to her own, and they must work together to decipher a series of codes that will unlock the pathway back to her world. They must succeed in their quest to save her world...and ours.

What????? - Lady in the Water review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
24/05/2007

Had read a few good reviews for this film, but maybe I completely missed the point, cos I hated it! Silly, far fetched story, some of the actors didn't fit the parts, and not brilliant special effects.

Sorry!

Modern mythology - Lady in the Water review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
28/01/2007

If you have an interest in mythology you might enjoy this, although you will need to put up with the modern setting. Giamatti is excellent in his role as a janitor for an apartment complex, trying to hide from the world and nurse emotional wounds from his past. It is interesting how the residents of the complex get involved in the story in a variety of ways, to try and help the 'lady' get back to her watery world.

The Village again - Lady in the Water review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
17/04/2007

This fim is really clever, really really really clever, original premise, uh no, original plot uh no, original story uh not a chance. The really clever thing about this film is the fact that this film is almost the exact same story as The Village.A central character must try to escape from where she is to another world. But in the way are scary creatures, it then turns out that the people around her are somehow involved in her being able to escape.

The film started off ok but seemed to become lazy and confused as it continued. To be honest in the end I didn't really care what happened.Quality rip off of his own work, yes. Quality film.I'm afraid not.
