Triple bill of western dramas. In 'Hellgate' (1952) Sterling Hayden stars as Gilman S. Hanley, a man who is wrongly accused of spying for the Confederates and subsequently sent to the infamous Hellgate prison. After a failed escape attempt, Hanley gets a chance to gain a pardon when an epidemic gives him the opportunity to put his medical knowledge to good use. In 'Shotgun' (1955) Deputy Marshal Clay Hardin (Hayden) pursues a band of outlaws led by Ben Thompson (Guy Prescott), the man who killed the town's sheriff, into Indian territory. Along the way he is joined by half-breed Abby (Yvonne De Carlo) and bounty hunter Reb (Zachary Scott). In 'Panhandle' (1948) former Texas marshal turned outlaw John Sands (Rod Cameron) hears of his brother's murder and risks capture in order to find the killer.
