The Bible is the most widely distributed book in the world, having been translated into more than 2100 languages. It is believed that more than five million copies of the Bible have been sold since 1815, making it the best-selling book of all time. The Bible is actually a collection of what were originally a number of independent books or stories. The majority of Christians refer to the Bible as a combination of the Old Testament and the New Testament, the latter describing the life and message of Jesus. These historic colour films produced for television in 1952, chronicle a number of these stories from the New Testament.
