Three programmes looking at a selection of famous stately homes and gardens. The first programme takes a look at Chartwell, the family home of Britain's wartime Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. The second programme looks at Chatsworth, a beautiful yellow-coloured building surrounded by gardens, fronted by the River Derwent and backed by a tree-covered hillside. The house has been selected as the United Kingdom's favourite country house on several occasions. Finally, the third programme looks at 'the most comfortable house in England', Sandringham, built in 1870 and occupied by various members of the Royal Family down the years.
