Interviews - The Doctors: The Tom Baker Years review by CJ

Spoiler Alert
04/10/2017

These DVDs contain nothing but interviews with no clips of the series just still images every now and then.

Although the interviews are in depth and interesting, to be honest I was hoping for a episode by episode breakdown with clips or at the very least the most famous episodes but this isn't the case. I have many fond memories of several of the the Tom Baker episodes and the stories are classic. Some were quite dark and scary but what possibly prevents them being praised by new fans is the relatively poor production values. At the time, being young children, we overlooked that.

Tom Baker will always have a nostalgic place in my heart for the the following episodes. Sorry if I'm not remembering some of the titles quite right. Horror of Fang Rock, Talons of Weng Chung, Pyramids of Mars, Genesis of the Daleks, Brain of Morbius, Robots of Death, Android Invasion. Watch any of these to see Tom Baker at his best.
